Who we are
Sona HomeTech Ltd. is a home technology and security installation company based in the North Okanagan, British Columbia, Canada. What we collect
- Information you send us. When you use our contact or quote forms, we receive the details you enter: your name, email address, phone number, the services you're interested in, and your project description. The same applies when you call, text, or email us directly.
- Website analytics. We use Google Analytics and Cloudflare Web Analytics to understand how visitors use the site (pages viewed, device type, approximate region). This does not tell us your name or contact details.
- Spam protection. Our forms use Cloudflare Turnstile to check that a submission comes from a real person rather than a bot. It looks at technical information from your browser and is not used for advertising.
- Technical data. Our hosting provider (Cloudflare) processes standard technical information such as IP addresses to deliver the site securely and prevent abuse.
How we use your information
- To respond to your inquiry and prepare your quote
- To schedule, deliver, and follow up on our services
- To keep normal business records (quotes, invoices, warranty details)
- To understand how the website is used so we can improve it
We do not sell or rent your personal information, and we won't add you to marketing lists without asking you first.
Who we share it with
We use a small number of trusted service providers to run this website, and each one only receives what it needs to do its job:
- Cloudflare — hosts the website, processes form submissions, runs the spam check, and provides visit statistics
- Resend — delivers our email (your inquiry to us, and your confirmation copy to you)
- Google Analytics — website usage statistics
- Telegram — sends us an instant notification when a new inquiry arrives
Beyond that, we only share personal information if the law requires it.
Cookies
Google Analytics uses cookies to measure how the site is used, and Cloudflare may set strictly necessary security cookies. You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings, or install Google's Analytics opt-out add-on — the website works fine either way.
How long we keep it
We keep inquiry and project information as long as we need it to serve you and to meet normal business and tax record-keeping requirements. If you'd like your information removed earlier, just ask — we'll delete what the law doesn't require us to keep.
Your rights
Under Canadian privacy law (PIPEDA and BC's Personal Information Protection Act), you can ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or withdraw your consent to our use of it. Email sonahometech@gmail.com and we'll respond promptly.
Links to other sites
This site links to our profiles on Instagram and Google. Those platforms have their own privacy policies that apply once you're there.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle personal information, we'll update this page and the effective date at the top.
